Beautiful building from the outside. Amazing entry foyer & common spaces. Our room #8 was sparsely furnished (bed, 2 mini bedside tables, lounge chair, bookshelf & two suitcase stands in bedroom, futon-ish sofa bed, two ottomans & small table in living area. Other chairs? Dresser? Desk? Not enough places to rest your things, bottom) - I expected a little more decor though it was nice & large. Though they knew I booked for 3 people the futon had not been made up by our 7:00 arrival, there were only two drinking glasses & two sets of towels. Big problem with scalding hot water in the shower - with dial set to cold you could not stand under it without burning yourself. I mentioned this to the breakfast staff the next morning rather than the night before when we tried to take a shower because I didn’t think any staff person was in the house still. If they were I didn’t know where.
Breakfast was ok. I was disappointed when they would not put the breakfast out earlier for us at 8:00 on a weekday as we had to leave at 9:00 to get to a meeting. At 8:30 when we were told it would be ready the staff person was still setting things out. Only a continental style breakfast with eggs was offered - this was the first time staying in a B & B that I wasn’t offered a special meal like gourmet pancakes, waffles, housemade bread, muffins, a meat protein or omelette/quiche. But the stained-glass windows were beautiful, it was within walking distance to a cute street with shops & restaurants.
