Good for short stay
The place has the good things and bad things of Japan. Really clean, English speaking and friendly staff, nice and comfy beds, quiet area just around the corner of Ueno station, only 4 beds in a dormroom, several Konbini’s close by. However, in Tokyo, space is a bit of an issue, so the rooms are really cramped. There is no normal way to stash your backpack in the room, so you have to make due in stashing your backpack on your bed even when you go to bed. I got a bit of bad luck on my dorm roommates, some really snoring loudmouths, but that’s not for the hostel to blame for. Advise don’t take too much luggage with you, put the big things in a locker at Ueno station. Everything else was fine.

The double bed private room was literally the size of a closet. You open the door and it's bed. No space for anything but we got used to it after a night and it was a good learning process and experience to live minimal. The staff are friendly and helpful. The common areas including bathroom and showers are always clean. The lounge area is great. Only downfall is that the ac can be stronger in the rooms.

Very friendly, but small room
Very friendly staff with excellent English skills, lovely kitchen and dining area, and great location near Ueno station! One downside was the size of the room - I know Tokyo suffers from lack of space, but there was barely room to stand after putting two suitcases at the foot of the bed! Felt like sleeping in a cupboard, but was perfectly fine for one night.

Clean and modern hostel
Nice place, very modern. The private room was TINY! Fine for a short stay but wouldn't recommend for more than a night or two.

Can't fault it
Friendly english speaking staff, clean and quite conveniently placed hotel. The staff was very helpful and recommended us a nearby Japanese breakfast place that was really good. The rooms are very small and basic, but the beds are comfy and there are USB wall sockets and a bar fridge. There are some really good restaurants in the Ueno area, and lots of small local shops. Good for those who aren't interested in the high street. Ueno is also very convenient to get to/from Narita.
