Booking was a pain. I booked 4 rooms for 3 nights each at this rundown hotel that I would assume would have been pretty empty if I booked elsewhere. Once finding out that it was for Hispanic men the front desk guy told me he needed a $400 deposit, he said because the rooms are so cheap people just come and trash the rooms…. fine I gave him the deposit. I paid $70 a room a night, during a week with nothing going on in town I wouldn’t call that a cheap room, this is a old rundown hotel… After the guys stayed the 3 nights and checked out I got a call that he was keeping my deposit because the guys tracked white dust in the lobby from the salt put down due to the snow we got that day….. after arguing with him he said he was going to keep half of the deposit, FOR VACUUMING the Lobby carpet from the salt he put down for the snow!
$200 to vacuum? Do they not normally vacuum the hallway on a daily basis? Where else do they skimp cleaning at this hotel?
The $400 deposit seemed very weird to me at the beginning, we stay at a lot of hotels for work and it’s always been $25-$35 a night invade something was damaged but never $100 per room! Now I know why it was so much, that’s the game they play there….. this hotel is obviously struggling to stay open, $200 to clean the floor in the lobby proves that!
