We had a lovely break at Hy Lytham. It was our anniversary whilst we were there, and we had a lovely time! We also arrived to balloons and party poppers which was a really sweet touch.

Location and facilities were excellent. This was our second visit to the property. There are areas which are tired and a little shabby, there are also areas that could be cleaner. Overall, these minor things wouldn’t deter us from re-visiting in future.

Booked a 3 apartment, was clean but wasn't very soundproof. Could hear stomping upstairs in the middle of the night and between rooms. Rooms were provided with 2 sets of toiletries, requested for 1 more set since we were 3 couples but it was not allowed. Also wasn't allowed to have 3 room key cards even though in my opinion, it is a reasonable request to ask for 3 key cards. Aside from the seemingly stingy policies, it is a good hotel with great value.

Have stayed a dozen times before always been really good. Was good this time, However in my opinion it is completely unacceptable to charge for pool towels (£2 per towel). This has never happened before. The receptionist was very embarrassed about it and apologised, they said that they wouldn’t pay and suggested using the bathroom towels and using the washer/dryer in the apartment instead of paying. Didn’t pay!

We had a 2 night stay at the hotel. Check in was fast and room was ready. We had a 2 bed apartment and it had all of the basics you would expect. I did have a student accommodation feel to it and the sofa had some stains that meant we were not the comfortable using it. The bedroom was again basic and had clean towels and bedding. Could have done with a mirror instead of a TV in the bedrooms as there was a TV in the lounge. No full length mirror only a small one in the bathroom and a small one in the lounge. The staff were really nice and friendly and the coffee was good in reception. We used the pool and spa on one day and it was a nice extra. It was in a good central location and the beach behind the hotel was beautiful, just dunes and lots of beach - Stunning.

The apartment is very well kitted out and there’s lots of storage and space, the decor is lovely, the shower was large and felt luxurious. We booked a massage in the spa which was fabulous, but you must pre book as she rents the facility privately and is very popular! However, there’s a few things that made it an average visit as opposed to an amazing one. The smell of drains on entry to the flat was bad and possibly due to the storm backing everything. WiFi is shockingly bad, we tried to get some work done in the apartment but this was impossible to achieve. The couch covers were really grotty, the armchair was also stained with what looked like makeup. There was also a large handprint on the wall next to a mirror where someone had been doing their makeup. The cold tap runs hot water initially and then eventually runs cold, quite concerning. The pool was not available for 3 days and we chose the hotel because it had a lovely looking pool and spa area. This was not their fault as the storm had knocked out all the pump and electrics. On our final morning, there was no heating or hot water site wide so the 9 hour drive home was not fresh!
