We previously visited Henrietta House before it changed ownership about 6 years ago, and it was a beautiful hotel with tasteful decor and a luxurious feel. It was a dissapointment returning.
Our room was cramped and painted a depressing grey colour, the matress was squeeky, uncomfortable and worn out, the blinds were broken with no curtains. No sound insulaton so we were woken up repeatedly by slamming doors in the corridors, coughing in a next door room and noise from the street in the morning due to single pane windows with no secondary glazing. The room was clean and bathroom was modern.
The decor of the hotel as a whole has lost all of it's Georgian charm and now looks like a dingy nightclub, decorated with dark walls, movie posters and TK Maxx ornements. The breakfast was OK, but not the best coffee and overcooked bacon. Outragous £20 per night street parking charge, which we avoided by park and ride. Pressure put on us as we left to leave a 5* review on Google maps. Overall an uncomfortable and very dissapointing stay.
