Cute Old Historical Hotel
The location is perfect for walking. They had festivals going on like literally on the corner. The parking is gated. The hotel is "Historic" so if you are looking for upscale modern feel this is not it. The Balcony is very small and the walls are very thin. Front desk was nice.

New Orleans best kept secret
I loved everything about the hotel; the old charm, the location, and the entire staff. I also loved the size of the hotel; not huge and not too small. You don’t have to worry about the pool being crowded; I love it here. And the rooms are clean, nice and roomy. The location is excellent; waking distance to Bourbon Street, French Quarters, Deanie’s Restaurants , and everything else. You will not be disappointed.

A few difficulties
I stayed in the hotel several times before the recent renovations. Then the rooms were a bit antiquated but had a strong New Orleans vibe to them. Now that is gone. The floors are all laminated and even the exposed brick walls are painted white, so that feel is now gone. I miss that. Also parking was free for hotel guests, and that has changed. Check out time is now the standard 11AM and not the 3 PM it used to be. One thing much better now are the modernized baths; they were great.
I had a difficult time turning on the TV as the first thing that came up was a sign saying you need to sign in. That threw me, but when the front desk manager could not take care of the problem over the phone he quickly came up to the room. He showed me how to avoid the sign on screen and I never had a problem again.
One day the maid missed my room, and I ran out of towels. A quick trip to the front desk and I had a full set of towels. It was just a bit frustrating not being able to take a shower after being out in the New Orleans heat and humidity for the morning and the whole afternoon.
Another house keeping things was that they did not have any bar soap. I don't know if this is now how it's done or someone didn't order any. So to wash your hands it required using one of the little body wash bottles. When I got to the room there was just one to use at the sink and in the shower. The front desk gladly provided more though, but it was a bit inconvenient at first.

This was mine & my husband's first time staying at this hotel and we absolutely enjoyed our stay! The staff was super friendly & accomodating. The hotel is nestled in a very quiet area, with secure gated parking. We were in walking distance of Frenchmen Street, which has numerous places to eat, enjoy live music & explore a variety of shops. We will definitely be staying here again in the very near future!
