Beds were comfy experience wasn’t the best
The hotel itself was nice—very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. You could tell it had been recently updated, though there were a few minor details that could’ve used more attention, like the bathroom paint job, which wasn’t the best. Still, overall, the condition and cleanliness were solid. The breakfast was great, too.
The location felt a little sketchy, with some homeless individuals wandering nearby. One frustrating experience I had was when I went to breakfast and accidentally left my key in the room, only having my phone on me. When I asked the front desk for a replacement key, they refused because I didn’t have my ID—despite the fact that it was the same person who had checked me in the day before. He asked if I had a photo of my ID on my phone, which I didn’t, since it was in my room.
I offered a reasonable solution: have someone walk with me to the room, and I’d show them my ID once inside. I also pointed out that they took a copy of my ID at check-in, and I could verify everything on it. He told me they didn’t have a copy on file—which was confusing, since I know they took one.
I completely understand the need for security, but I can’t be the first person who’s ever locked themselves out. A little common sense and flexibility would’ve gone a long way. I did eventually get back into my room, but it took way more time and hassle than it should be
