The people are friendly. They don't do breakfast it's just a small motel in a small town that will be fine for some people & not others. But the staff is great.

Older motel but nicer than 1st appearance. Completely remodeled room very nice bathroom. Room was clean. Only recommendation is a dimmer for the too bright LED lighting. Very good value for a traveler not needing fancy.

Great stay for a good price. This hotel is right next to a Love's, so it's easy to get breakfast items in the morning. It's also a safe area, so ideal for traveling with children. The check-in was easy, the room was in good condition and clean, and the bed and AC were comfortable. Will be staying here again.

So first of all i am handicapped. There was abig plastic pipe in front of the steps leading to our room. There was no railing on the steps. Once in the room there was only a hard little plastic chair. I have a bad back. I could not sit in this chair. On a good note when i went back to the office i was given a refund and went elsewhere that night. Manager was super nice. The room was clean. I did not like the lighting. It was in the ceiling and was super bright. No other lighting in the room. Also it was on a noisey road.

We had another great stay at the Candlelight in Ozark, AL. David was a great host and remembered us from a previous stay a few weeks ago! Which he was very accommodating then and had the same service this stay. We are working outside and it was nice to get checked in quickly, and able to get shower and relax for the night. Thank you David and Team at the Candlelight!

Pleasant motel - Not the neatest. Not a bad place, as with lots of places like this, they are cheap & cheerful, but could do with some TLC. But I think post COVID with increased costs everywhere it isn't easy. Half bath had a bad go of sealing the cracks in it. Bit the room was clean and tidy, bit rough around the edges. We were room 42. Rooms 42-46 had me pipework from the toilets running in front of the steps. It's plastic pipe and not painted yellow. You have to step over it, then straight away step back up the 2 stairs to the room - not good for less mobile people and anyone at night! But, it's not a horrendous place to stay.

Room was clean and updated, no lamp by the bed just blaring bright LED on ceiling, road was noisy all night, woken up several times from road noise. Otherwise probably would consider staying again.

I love a good mom-and-pop motel. Give me a clean room, a decent bed, and a guy named Dave who knows everyone within 30 miles, and I’m happy. The reviews were good. Everyone loved Dave. There was no Dave. I’m not entirely sure anyone knew we had a reservation. The room itself was clean and mildly updated. We dropped off our stuff, went to dinner, and came back. That’s when the motel started unlocking bonus content. Turns out the room next door had what appeared to be permanent residents. We had no idea anyone was there until they materialized outside our doors to smoke. Then we noticed the mattress outside one room. The grill outside another. Ah. There were the clues. We decided to leave. The neighbors seemed genuinely confused about why we were checking out so quickly, which raised a question I hadn’t previously considered: Did they think we rented the room by the hour? We had driven past several times and somehow missed all of this. Apparently the mattress, grill, and mysterious residents are features you unlock after check-in. The room WAS clean. I’ll give them that. But we packed up and found another hotel before this side quest turned into a Dateline episode. Still love a good mom-and-pop motel. Next time, I’d just like the pop to actually be there. And Dave. Where the hell was Dave?

This hotel is fairly old roadside motel. The room was pretty old. Clean but old decor, old furniture, etc. Looks like some time had been spent updating the bathroom a bit. Bed was comfortable. The bad part was so much road noise, sirens, and it was right outside because the hotel is right next to the road.

When I pulled up to check in I was laughing because the place was so pathetic and run down. The doors have paper taped on with the room number. The room key was an actual key. But the AC worked great, the bed was comfortable, the shower was strong and hot, and the room was clean. Overall, a positive experience.

I am giving this 4 stars for what it is- a budget friendly motel for one night in transit. No, it does not have amenities you expect at a chain hotel, but it is half the price. It has the things I consider requirements- clean room, hot water, insect-free, and safe feel. We like to stay at family-owned motels when we travel and recognize that it is a tough business. In general, I think these owners are making the right trade-offs. With that said, the paper door numbers are going too far. Legible vinyl numbers are an inexpensive and necessary upgrade.

Rooms were clean, ac worked great, and tv worked great in one room but an older remote in the other wasn't fully functional but did work. I found the beds to be quite comfortable. The room doors had been repainted outside but the temporary numbers marked on tape weren't easily readable in the dark and the door seals need replacing as the adjacent highway noise was unusually loud. There wasn't any place for some long-term residents to keep their outside equipment (BBQ, Chairs, etc) except on the sidewalk but not a problem except there wasn't a wheelchair ramp near our end of the building. The office area needs a major update and the one-time attractive sign out front is missing some of the lights. I would stay here again but would not if my family was traveling with me.
