Our stay was rather disappointing despite the friendly staff and beautiful grounds. Cleanliness was a major issue—dust everywhere, mouldy bathroom tiles, stained furniture, and broken fixtures. Our room, booked for three, was only set up for two, and we had to request basic items. A dead cockroach stayed in the decorative pool for three days, even after we notified the reception. The pool area had broken tiles, food quality was average (watery eggs, malfunctioning coffee machines), and an awful sewage smell filled our room on the second night (no extractor fan in the bathroom). There were also no signs indicating restricted areas, yet security stopped us twice when walking near the golf course and hotel grounds.
Additionally, it turned out that you are not allowed to use Hyatt Regency’s facilities, which is unclear upon booking and check-in, leaving many guests confused. This is mostly due to how they sell (and explain upon check-in) the shuttle bus service and the private beach facility at Hyatt Regency. The "private beach" is just a small, unclean fenced-off area with cigarette butts.
While the staff were kind and the setting was lovely, better maintenance, cleanliness, and clearer communication are urgently needed.
