I stayed here with my son and his girlfriend and the setting is magical, serene and beautiful. We swam in the lake while watching a family of monkeys watching us from the trees and swallows dipped and flew over the lake. The service is very warm and friendly. Nestled in the midst of the jungle but on a lakefront La Lancha offered us a wonderful and relaxed stay full of beautiful scenery, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, canoe rides and stand up paddle boarding activity. We truly enjoyed our time here. The place is simply stunning with lithe huts (casitas) scattered in the midst of the jungle and a team of staff dedicated to ensuring our stay was pleasurable. A beautiful boutique hotel experience in a jungle setting. Very attentive staff. It is remote so no where to walk to but most people do excursions during the day. Food was very good. Just be aware that food and drink prices are US/Cdn levels, not Guatemalan. That's the main trade off for staying in such a beautiful place. There is also a resident family of spider monkeys which made the experience unique.
