The staff, hotel, cleanliness, and food were all top tier!! We felt like royalty not just guest. I will go back to Portugal just to stay at this amazing House. Five stars is not enough for any of the categories.

Dear Lisbo-Bordalo Palace Chiado was the perfect place to stay in Lisbon! It is a charming hotel that is centrally located, so it was easy to go to the many places we wanted to visit. Nearby, restaurants were in abundance. The rooms were superior, beds were comfy, and the bathrooms had had lovely showers! Most of, the staff were welcoming and so helpful! They went out of their way to make our stay special. HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying at Dear Lisbon-Bordalo Palace Chiado.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, perfectly located for exploring Lisbon on foot, with charming streets, cafés, and sights just steps away. Our room was stylish, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. Every interaction with the team was a reminder of what true service feels like: kind, attentive, and sincere. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for our time in this incredible city. Our room smelled strongly like back gassing sewer! staff seemed surprised by this and tried to address but was odd that it took us to identify? Staff did eventually offer to move us but we were unable to meet the time limit on this as we were heading out the door for pre booked day tour and we’re given very short notice to re pack bags. They did leave an apology note and a mini bottle of port in our room worth about $3-5 dollars. Great location though and we enjoyed our time in spite of this.

Muy bien pero no habitación a la calle

Las habitaciones que dan a la calle son ruidosas por ambulantes que tocan instrumentos musicales y abajo también hay un bar. Lo bueno es que acaban 11:30 pm. Lo demás muy bien !

Great Hotel Stay!

Great location! Close to the train stations as well as many amazing restaurants close by. We are in the centre of Old Town Lisbon and never needed to take a taxi. The walks were enjoyable.

Get ready for rules, not the best stay.

Overall not a great stay. Old building, partially renovated (only the bathroom). Many downsides: Multiple messages from the staff thru tha app and whatsapp asking for our arrival time. We had no idea when we were going to get there. Not allowed to eat or drink anything not purchased from the hotel in the room. That's a first. Loud noise when you use any water (sewage pump is loud). Air con is hard to figure out and underpowered for the room, locked to not allow below 18 degrees. We put the sign on the door to have our room made up, but they thought it was to not disturb, so they didn't make up the room. Bed not that comfy. Towels and toiletries good. No hair conditioner. Weird big keychain you have to carry around all day that makes noise in your pocket. Staff forgot to bring us our cappuchino we ordered at breakfast. Breakfast was tasty though.

This was one of the best properties we have stayed at - EVER! Dear Lisbon Bordalo Palace Chiado exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was spacious and super clean, well decorated and had everything you could possibly need (toothbrushes, water bottles, shower caps, a mending kit, even slippers). We were greeted with Pastel de Natas and raspberries in our room. The staff was so attentive to our every need! And, the breakfast was delicious. So many options, even freshly made espressos and cappuccinos! I would give Dear Lisbon Bordalo Palace Chiado 12 out of 10 stars if I could. Fabulous staff, wonderful accommodations, excellent location and amazing breakfast. Best of the BEST!

Timeless Elegance with a Personal Touch

The Bordalo Palace has all the luxury of a 4-star hotel in that the rooms are spacious with high ceilings, balconies, and exquisite furnishings, and AC that works! (not a given in Europe). In other ways, it has all the warmth of a B&B. There aren’t a large number of guest suites and the breakfast area is cozy with folksy décor and place settings that look like they came out of your aunt’s china cabinet. But what really sets this place apart is the personalized service, which is hard to find in our QR-code dominated world. The front desk staff - Caterina and Isra – act like a concierge – they don’t just hand you a key and tell you how to get to your room – they provide assistance with your luggage (which you may very well need because there’s no elevator (another rarity in Europe), they give you a map, point out local attractions, give you advice on where to eat and shop, even instructions on how to use Lisbon’s celebrated public transportation system! If a problem arises, they put on their on their thinking caps and troubleshoot! On my first day, I accidentally left my key at the hotel and Caterina promptly called me and came up with a brilliant solution! The ladies who staffed the breakfast area constantly re-stocked the delectable items on the buffet and asked us if there was anything we needed. The icing on the cake literally) was that I found 2 pasteles de nata garnished with fresh raspberries and handwritten notes. Looking forward to my next stay!

The room was beautiful! Very clean and well appointed with a large bathroom and shower. The hotel was close to transit, sights and restaurants, but rooms were very quiet. Excellent breakfast included and the staff were great. From check in to check out it was fantastic!

In the heart of Chiado

Great place to stay in the heart of Chiado. Vintage building, it's a converted apartment, with a nice breakfast and helpful staff. We parked in the area for a night and didn't have too hard of a time finding parking.

Wonderful stay, perfect for couples!

Location was perfect. The vast majority of anything you will need for an adult couple vacation within 10 minutes walk. The rest is easily reached by Uber or public transport. The hotel itself extremely charming. The little details, such as the morning buffet with only 6 tables located in the old kitchen, was approved highly by the female part of the couple. Extremely nice breakfast. The rooms were perfect. Yes, it is older (located on the first floor of a private building, with 2+3rd floor privately owned), but clean and large. Surprisingly quite at night, even though we had a window to the square with all the restaurants. We did have closed windows and AC on due to the high outside temperature. For a couple trip, this would be a first pick for us going to Lisboa. Highly recommendable.

Luxury stay

The hotel was perfect in every detail. Personalized note upon arrival, delicious breakfast with cappuccinos, and the elusive King size bed were all just icing on the amazing architecture, design and customer service. I highly recommend Dear Lisbon.

Loved Bordalo House. The building is very pretty and historic. The room was spacious and clean. The balcony looked over the restaurants and street which was nice. The staff were very helpful. The o ly downside was that we could hear the people above us in their apartment walking around. I would still stay here again. It was in a safe and convenient location.
