There is nowhere on earth like Mt Rainier and the Cascades. This setting is spectacular.

Loved this place, has all the historical quality, top notched building with very clean, well maintained. The dinning options were very limitted, over priced food compare to taste of food.

Staying at Paradise Lodge is experiencing history. I first stayed here in the mid 1980s so this time was reliving those memories of 35 years ago. The lodge is old and interesting. The guest rooms are updated and comfortable. We had dinner in the lodge dining room and it was very good. All the staff were friendly and polite. We had a great time.

We stayed in the annex… very clean room and comfortable. Also very quiet. Very friendly staff, good food and accommodating service. Loved the daily wood fires and the relaxing atmosphere of the ‘wandering’ bartender! Of course, having the mountain ‘out’’ for display helped immensely!

Great historical hotel, beautiful place, really enjoyed staying there. Great location, so close to lots of trails, amazing park. What I did not like much: quality and variety of meals at the restaurant was not great. The hotel has just one restaurant, it is expensive, but the meals are not good enough for me, did not enjoy them as much. And very limited vegetarian options.

Iconic, old school lodge. I had a dorm room with a shared bathroom. Worth the stay to be able to see a sunrise at paradise. Excellent piano player

6/10 Good

Pros: Right in the park, beautiful views, next to all the trails. Cons: shared bathroom and showers, thin walls, over priced everything. Felt like a retirement home, choice between overpriced buffet or overpriced pre packaged food.

This is the best location inside the national park. The property oozes historical vibes and the views are spectacular. The staff appear to be from all over the world on work visas and they are friendly and conversational. The formal dining is decent. The standard rooms are elemental, could be hot at night, and the sound insulation is not great.

Property is well-kept, considering it was built in the early 1900's. Staff courtesy and efficiency is excellent. Dining room is impressive. Dining menu needs to change.

Wow ! This stay was quite interesting and full of surprises! Although no TV, no Telephone, no WiFi , but has 5G ! Travel with family of three and dog, unlimited data plan, we were still having a full connection with outside world! Historical lodge , beautiful wood work and Rainier right by you!!! Best place to stay and start if you visit Rainier National Park!

It was a truly memorable experience. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled within the breathtaking beauty of Mount Rainier National Park. The historic charm of the inn is complemented by its warm, welcoming staff to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, offering an authentic and rustic feel that added to the overall charm. Dining at the on-site restaurant was delightful, with delicious meals that catered to a variety of tastes. Paradise Inn is the perfect retreat for nature lovers and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the serene beauty of Mount Rainier. Highly recommend!

Great location. Right next to visitor center. Well maintained rooms. A bit small but given that it is inside the park it was expected. A kettle in the room would be a good option to have for bring your own coffee or ready to eat meals. Food is expensive here & I totally understand why. So no complaints on that.

This is the best choice you have around Paradise area, if you want to do an overnight trip to Mount Rainier. Yeah, it is expensive, of course. The room is clean, but tiny. We didn't dine in the restaurant on site, since the reviews are so bad. We brought our own food, got beer, tea and coffee from the cafe (yes, there is a cafe where you can get drinks). We had a quiet and peaceful time sitting on the porch with mountain view. A pianist played piano in the lobby which added the charm.

Can't get much closer to the beauty of Mt. Hood

It was amazing to be able to step right out of the hotel onto the trails. The big lobby, main seating area was also a great place to hang out, though it got a little crowded at times. It was nice to have dining options, from the reasonabl-priced cafe to the more expensive buffet. Next time we'll try to book soon enough to get an ensuite bathroom, because our room was a bit small and it was a bit inconvenient to have to go down the hall to the bathroom in the middle of the night (though they did provide bathrobes). Bring bath shoes or flipflops if you plan to use the communal showers. All that said, I would come back (but book early enough to get an en-suite bathroom).

The area was beautiful and it was great to have the trails right out the door for Mt. Rainier. The room was tiny, but clean and comfortable. The lodge was cozy and historic. The staff was a mix of nice and indifferent. Dining options were very limited so we paid for the pricey dinner buffet ($100 for two people after tip) that was still had an hour left before it closed. The buffet was out of chicken and beef and all the side dishes were picked over. We were literally scraping the sides of the serving trays to get any food. Eventually they brought out more beef and chicken, but the chicken was like something you'd get in a high school cafeteria. The only thing they had plenty of was dessert, so we had dessert for dinner. The grab and go food in the snack bar was expensive and soggy. Enjoyed the lodge and location immensely, but the food and it's expense was a huge disappointment.

Old-school, rustic hotel but with charm

Nice hotel, but certainly tough to find even with a map. There are no signs stating the proximity to the Paradise Inn when traveling up the mountain. In fact, the day we drove up there, one of the direct roads was closed and we needed to turn around, drive back at least 90 minutes and take a much longer route. The views of Mt. Rainer are spectacular and if the sun is out and the clouds clear, you understand why you drove for so long just to reach this destination. Our room was quite small but clean. The staff super friendly, and the views from our window stunning. The morning we awoke to a light snowfall, and I was eager to check out as soon as possible, as our rental car did not have any chains for the tires. But I did not have to worry, because as we were driving down the base from the mountain, the snow turned into a slushy rain. And my husband, is a most careful driver. Also, I am sorry but the photos from the room itself came out crappy and I could not use them for this review!
