An excellent choice with a superb setting (lively stretch of beach) but the main attraction here are the wonderfully iron-water natural hot springs (and, at 40 degrees, they are hot). Many visitors to Thailand don't realise the country is jam-packed with hot springs, most of which we've visited, and these waters are among the best. If you can splurge on a villa or room that has a private hot spring pool then it's worth it for privacy/calm to soak anytime you want, but the two hot pools in the main complex are enormous and you'll always find space - but might get busy from day visitors (so avoid mid-day soaks). The icy cold plunge pool is wonderful and deifnitely creates a great balance to the 40-degree waters. You emerge from a combination of the two feelign very refreshed.
This was our second visit to the hotel and we can see a huge amount of infrastructure improvements in the two years since first visiting - they're obviously investing a lot of time and money into upgrading the premises and it shows. The onyl real srea that still needs some attention is the choice and overall quality of the breakfast - it somehow feels uninspired with limited choice (especially for vegetarian options) and nothing especially tasty or imaginative on offer. This would be an easy fix and we spoke with the very present and friendly General Manager about this (he is very keen to get feedback and make constant improvements, to his credit) and so we anticipate breakfasts will improve.
