On arrival the receptionist was quite nonchalant and wasn’t interested in informing us about the facilities, breakfast timings ect. Talking about breakfast, we had pre-booked, but if you haven’t, a full breakfast costs £16.95. For that amount I would expect fresh ingredients, but it was quite obvious that some of the food was reheated from the day before… If you prefer a Continental breakfast for £9.95, there is no cheese or a selection of meats to choose from. Sorry, I’ve had much better breakfasts in other hotels! Room was nice and clean, but I found the mattress way too firm. My husband was ok with the firmness. We paid for parking for two nights and found when we arrived back at the hotel the second day, there was no parking spaces left. Although the hotel doesn’t guarantee parking, why take payment in advance?? So, off we went to the local multi storey car park. Not happy! The hotel’s location is great. Near to restaurants and the city centre is within a short walk. However, we won’t return. We will stay at the Holiday Inn Express instead, where we have stayed many times and never had any issues. Hilton Double Tree next doors is also very nice, so do yourself a favour and ignore this place!!
