We recently stayed at GLOBALSTAY Toronto for one week, having booked a room for two people. I was already charged extra for the second guest — something I considered odd but accepted at the time.
What followed was, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience I’ve had — and I say this having accumulated over 1,000 hotel nights in the past.
First, we were provided with only one key. This created an absurd logistical nightmare. It made it impossible for one person to use the gym while the other went out, because the single key was required both to access the elevator and to lock the apartment door. When I requested a second key — a completely reasonable ask given that I booked for two guests — GLOBALSTAY demanded an additional charge. So in total, I was expected to pay extra twice simply so both guests could independently come and go from the room. That’s unacceptable, exploitative, and borders on absurd.
The bed, allegedly meant for two, was a cramped 140 cm. The terrace doors and windows were disgustingly filthy, clearly not cleaned for quite some time —
In short: DO NOT book GLOBALSTAY. This was a deeply disappointing, frustrating, and infuriating experience from start to finish. I strongly advise anyone considering a stay here to look elsewhere — anywhere else.
