Great all-inclusive in Zanzibar
Pros: Entertainment was top notch. The African dances were so good the 3 nights we were there. I don't usually like the resort buffets but the buffet here was very good. The food was tasty well seasoned and abundant. Fatma and Asma took such good care of us since we went there several times throughout our stay.
Cons: While the buffet is amazing trying to get reservations at the restaurants is very very difficult. We only went to Krystals. The instructions are to make your reservations via the RIU app but we were never able to make a reservation thru the app. The app is very faulty. At the Palace front desk they told us to go to the Jambo front desk for those restaurants. When I did this the agent desk basically told me keep trying with the app and the resort is full. I have never been to a resort where I wasn't able to make reservations for the restaurants. Front desk staff is a bit slow. At check in we were told late check out is $20/person/hour and to just arrange it the day before. Well it was a process to get to say the last since my space here is limited. Will expand on Trip Advisor.
Overall I would say it's a great resort, but it's lacking if you are comparing it with the Caribbean and Mexico. I would not recommend you go out of your way to go to Zanzibar from the US but if you are in the area, the beach is beautiful and an all inclusive is always just what the doctor ordered.
