Very comfortable bed in a clean and cozy room. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful. I will warn you, if you are unfamiliar with old buildings in NY, give the hot water a couple minutes to get going before you shower.

For lower-east Manhattan, the Gatsby Hotel is a pretty good value. It is a good compromise if you don't want to pay out the nose but also don't want to stay in a dive. The room was clean and actually the size it looked in the online photos. The beds were quite comfy - and I am picky! Two small items it would be good for the hotel to address is adding more electrical outlets and tending to repairs. Our TP holder was upended without one end installed, if you can picture that. It was difficult not to dump the TP on the floor. I appreciated the tourism literature in the lobby, and I was glad there was the little lounge by reception so I could get a free coffee in the mornings! Great location for our purposes!

Staff very accommodating. Room was clean but very noisy from traffic on E Houston Street. Hot water literally took 10 minutes or more to arrive in the shower. The “Resort Fee” was unwelcome and for what reason??

No Working TV (no Cable box), Wires unplugged from the TV. No remote No Internet in my room. Broken Shelf in the bathroom. Broken AC Unit cord. Tried email reservations about the problems and have heard nothing. Extremely disappointed with the stay

The A/C didn't work and the room key devices were broken so every time you left the hotel the front desk person had to personally let you back into your room.

I’ve stayed here a few times over the years and it’s a brilliant location! Bathrooms need an upgrade but it’s clean and does the job if it’s just for you sleeping and getting a wash!

Staff were great. Especially the night time staff member. Always cheery and greeted us when we returned. Not much tv channels for night time but that didn’t matter. Our room wasn’t cleaned once over the 4 nights which I thought was weird. Good hotel to get your head down at night.

The room was clean. The hotel itself could use a refresh. It is a bit old and dated. Also a bit of flashing around doors to help mitigate the noise when people slam doors, or put on slow hinges. It did serve it purpose for our overnight stay.

The room was very clean and the staff was super helpful and very nice. The walls are pretty thin so you and others on your floor have to be considerate with the noise level but other than that it was an amazing short stay!
