Mother Daughter weekend trip to The Art Institute with some sightseeing.
The location was fantastic. The hotel was beautifully restored and quite lovely. The wall of windows with a great view were a surprise.
Beds and bedding were amazingly comfortable, towels were soft and decent size. Loved the duvets and assortment of pillows, it felt very luxurious.
Water bottle and refill station was a very nice amenity.
I read reviews of noise and other than the occasional siren, we had no issues with noise.
Access to subway and blue line to O'hare were all on the same block.
Walk time: The Bean was about 5 minutes, Art Institute and the Riverwalk were about 10 minutes.
Couple of cons:
An option for plus size robes would be nice.
The TV had all sorts of issues from remote range of about 2 feet to casting issues. The casting did not work despite several devices, it was trying to grab TV's in another room. The limited cable options were constantly interrupted by other rooms trying to cast which would take over our TV. My amenity fees were waived due to this issue but the TV show catch-up we had planned was not possible which was disappointing.
We used our drink vouchers at the bar, selections were very limited with only 1 beer option of Miller Light.
Shout out to Cassandra and Shamon (I'm sorry if I butchered the spelling, new guy at front desk) pleasant, helpful and friendly.
Overall, great stay, I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
