Having stayed at this hotel several times in past 3 years and always been happy, we were disappointed this time to find the cost had increased significantly. It felt like staff wanted extra money for standard services. Breakfast is no longer included and a premium is payable for choosing to have it on the day. Check in is not allowed until 4.00 pm. Arriving 90 mins early, direct from airport, we were told our room was ready but we could not check in without paying 26 euros extra. At 4.00 pm the queue at reception to check in was long and slow which was unnecessary if guests could be able to check in a little earlier for free. This creates a bad first impression. Every time we passed reception during the evenings, there was always a long queue. Rooms are not cleaned or topped up without prior booking without clear communication of this and even then basic amenities were not replaced or beds tidied. No extra pillows were in the room and facilities felt too basic for the high cost especially as we had paid for a more superior room. As it was hot, we had the window open but it was still hot and very noisy with planes, cars and wind which disturbed our night. This was surprising as it is in such a quiet location. Overall, we were disappointed and will look for a different hotel when staying in this area again in future.
