Living approximately 45 miles from this property, my daughter and I made reservations for this two-night stay to ensure being on time for two successive days of early morning out-patient surgery appointments at a nearby medical facility. On check-in, desk staff said I would get no discount as a Best Western Rewards member since reservations were made through Hotels.com. The swimming pool was extremely cold. The Jacuzzi pool was empty and roped off with yellow tape (especially disappointing). We had to kill two spiders, one of which was hanging from the ceiling about four feet above my daughter's bed. Two bath towels were stained with wide black streaks and another had a large splotch of dried, cream-colored matter. The shower head was unreachable--so high above one's head it was difficult to get adequate coverage below the waist and the stream so strong it hurt top of the head.The TV had no screen guide nor name of program currently being viewed. There was no night light; had to use cell phone flashlight for night-time trip to bathroom. There was no printed literature on amenities--hours of operation for complimentary breakfast, for example. And the price paid through hotels.com was much higher than prices advertised on property’s web site. SureStay Plus in Mountain View, CA gets a D-minus from us.
