Unfortunately, Couper Umiltà did not meet my expectations at all, and I would not return. I have stayed at Couper in Milan several times and everything has always been smooth, so this experience was particularly disappointing.
Communication was poor from the start. As I was arriving late, I sent several messages about check-in over two days and received no reply. I eventually had to call and was told they had been in a meeting that morning, although my messages had been sent the previous days.
The room was extremely small, with sharp corners and little space to move, although I accept I could have booked a larger category. What I cannot accept is the air conditioning not working properly for two days and, above all, the poor cleanliness.
The bed was so badly made that as soon as I lay down, the bedding moved and exposed the mattress protector, which had visible blood stains. I complained at 1am and a staff member came to change it, but this should never have passed housekeeping in the first place. I also found a long hair in the bathroom.
At around €250 per night, I expect basic standards: good communication, functioning air conditioning and, above all, impeccable cleanliness. Finding blood stains in the bed is simply unacceptable.
Extremely disappointing, especially compared with my previous Couper experiences. I would not return.
