Our recent stay at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles was a major disappointment. The beds and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The pool was overcrowded and poorly maintained—floating debris like hair and fake fingernails made it feel unsanitary and uninviting.
Dining was another letdown. The food at Lillie’s lacked authenticity and flavor, and Grotto’s tasted like reheated, day-old frozen meals—a stark contrast to the much better experience we’ve had at their Galveston location.
Additionally, while we appreciate the hotel being pet-friendly, it comes with downsides. We encountered dog waste in the hallway directly outside our room that remained uncleaned for over 18 hours. For a resort of this caliber, we expected far better cleanliness and service across the board.
