Clean rooms, good value, near pier to Railay. English speaking skills of staff surprisingly bad.
Traveling with friends, we all booked rooms separately (3 rooms total). Went to check in and two friends were given rooms on the top floor with ocean view and I was given one downstairs with no view. My friend's boyfriend (who is Thai) asked the staff member, if I could move into the room next to them so we could all be near each other, man said the room was not ready. Ok, fine, no worries, we thought.
Next morning we were checking out and the female staff put me on the phone with someone, a manager, I'd imagine, who wanted to know why I didn't sleep on the second floor, because they had assigned us 3 rooms upstairs, to which I replied that I went to the room that belonged to the key I had been given, AND that we had even asked the staff member if the room was available and he had said no. Confusing to say the least.
It seems like there are some issues to work on with communication between management and staff, before they accuse guests of not sleeping in their assigned rooms. Check in was also painfully slow.
Rooms clean and new, fine place to stay for the night.
