Resort Stay Review – Extremely Disappointed
Over the past twenty years, I’ve stayed at more than 30 resorts, so I have a good sense of what to expect. While this resort was scenic and the rooms were visually appealing, several serious issues during my stay ensure that I will never return.
1. Booking Issues & Poor Customer Service
I originally booked a stay from June 17 to June 22 directly through the Lopesan website. My wife and I double-checked all the details before finalizing, knowing it was a nonrefundable booking. However, when I received the email confirmation about 10 minutes later, it listed the wrong dates — in October, which would be impossible for us to travel.
I immediately attempted to call their customer service but could not get through. The next day, I reached a representative who promised to escalate the issue. Two days later, I was told there would be no refund and that I could only correct the dates if I paid an additional $700, despite clearly inputting the correct information initially. The representative made it sound like the mistake was mine. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was conveniently disconnected twice.
We ultimately rebooked via Hotels.com so we could still attend a friend’s birthday. I have attached the receipt from Hotels.com showing the correct dates. Frankly, the whole experience with Lopesan’s website and customer service felt deceptive, and I now question the legitimacy of their online booking platform.
