The location is excellent, which is the main reason we booked for a one-night stay while seeing a nearby show. Unfortunately, the hotel itself didn’t meet expectations. We were placed on the second floor, and the windows offered almost no sound insulation. The street noise was so loud that sleeping was nearly impossible.
The room had no refrigerator, no coffee setup, and we had no hot water in the shower later in the day. For a hotel at this price point and reputation, those omissions were surprising.
I did enjoy sitting in the lobby bar/restaurant, which is a lovely space. The cappuccino and truffle fries were very good, but I didn’t realize until after tipping and signing the check that an 18%+ gratuity had already been added automatically. My small order ended up costing over $40.
Overall, you’re paying for the name and the location more than the experience. If you’re assigned a room on a low floor, especially the second, I recommend requesting a higher one right away.
