From the moment we walked into The Benjamin Royal Sonesta, I knew we chose the right place. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and inviting — the kind of genuine hospitality that immediately puts you at ease, especially when you’re traveling alone with three kids. The atmosphere felt like stepping back into a refined 1920s New York, with a classy, old-New-York charm that made the whole stay feel special.
The location could not have been more perfect. Our corner was calm, safe, and easy to navigate — not overly busy or chaotic. We were right beside the New York Luncheonette and Smith & Wollensky, which made meals effortless. And despite how peaceful the area was, it was still an easy walk to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Saks, and Central Park. Truly the best of both worlds.
Our suite was incredibly spacious — a rare find in Manhattan. We had two large rooms, a kitchenette, two big screen TVs, beautiful windows that opened for fresh air, and everything was spotless. Housekeeping was amazing; when we ran out of toothpaste, they brought it up immediately with a smile.
The hotel restaurant deserves its own praise. We were running late for the Harry Potter Broadway show, and they still managed to prepare fresh meals for all four of us in under eight minutes. That level of service is above and beyond.
