We had two separate bookings and had to change rooms, even though we paid the same amount for all the nights we spent at Devasom. They offered an upgrade (140$ for one night) so we could stay in the same room. We refused and were treated like second class customers onwards:
The "better" room (Junior Suite) is almost the same size as the room before and certainly does not feel like a junior suite.
We informed the Hotel about being on our honeymoon - not a single congratulation or literally anything. We don't expect anything complimentary, but like a flower on the bed?! Nope.
To their critically acclaimed restaurant: we waited 40mins for our food, the first wine bottle we ordered was not available, the second took another 15mins to organize (we had a good view of them searching for the bottle) and to top it all off, one of the servers spent her evening texting on her phone, giggling. Also fun fact: we had a voucher for 10% off, saying no need to bring to the restaurant. Of course we were not given any discount.
Pool staff is great, water is exchanged and they are really attentive. Beach chairs are okay, have had more comfortable ones.
