Shopping in Jeju can be a rather relaxing activity, as the island has more markets than shopping malls – you get to experience the local lifestyle and shop for affordable goods. Jeju is known for its 5-day markets, which run for 5 consecutive days at differing locations on the island. These traditional marketplaces are among the best places on the island for authentic handicrafts and food products.

Jeju has an underground shopping arcade, where hundreds of shops selling just about anything you need – a good place to be when the weather isn’t ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. There are department stores carrying international brands, but they’re not as large and crowded as those you’ll find in major cities in South Korea.
