Nobody answers the phone
The hotel was booked through hotels.com and when I received the confirmation I was advised that I needed to let them know if I wanted a pet friendly room. I also wanted to book a table for dinner. I therefore tried to ring the hotel no fewer than 8 times that evening and a further 13 times the following morning. Nobody picked up the phone. In frustration I rang the Inn Collection number to complain (this involved 15 minutes of waiting to speak with someone). Eventually somebody did ring me back from the Midland and I was able to make the arrangements. Please understand that I have visited the Midland many times and it is a hotel I am very fond of but really.
I note on your review pages that others have been similarly frustrated with nobody answering the phone. You surely appreciate that the phone is for many people their first point of contact. Goodness knows how many customers you have disappointed by not answering calls and indeed how much business you may have lost when people just give up and book a stay somewhere else instead.
Please take this feedback as friendly advice and get it sorted.
