Things to do in Yangyang, or Yangyang-gun, revolve largely around the beach culture in this coastal paradise but also include ancient history, soaring viewpoints and outdoor adventure. Among the many local beaches here is Sungeut Beach, Jeongdongjin Beach, Geongpo beach, Surfyy Beach and Chuam Beach. Experiences range from quiet, serene atmospheres at Sungeut to a party atmosphere at Geyongpo and water sports at Surfyy.

For outdoor adventures, you can head for Micheongol Nature Recreation Forest, Hangyeryeong Service Area, Mangyeongdae Park or visit the cascading Towangseong Falls. You can explore ancient history at Botaeon temple or Naksana temple. For panoramic views, climb to the top of Seoraksan Peak. If you've got kids, head for Sol Beach Aqua World, a water park where you can splash and play all day.
