A comfy home for a longer stay in Waikiki
Large comfortable rooms with a kitchen area, dining table, easy chairs, large closet with lots of hangers, a safe and a laundry basket. Good sized balcony with two chairs and a small table for relaxing. Good black out curtains against the bright early morning sun. Two luggage racks! Hurray.

My new favorite in Waikiki
I can’t say enough good things about Ilima Hotel. From the super convenient location, size of the room, friendly staff, to the ease of check-in and check-out, even the pink color of the building makes it easy to quickly locate the hotel when you’re in the Waikīkī area. Exercise option is limited but that doesn’t bother me at all. Ilima is my new favorite hotel in Waikiki!

We stayed at the Ilima for 7 days in August and had a great experience. Though we arrived later than expected, the staff was very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious—much larger than many of today’s hotels—providing plenty of room for our family of 4 and all our luggage. While the Ilima isn’t a brand-new hotel, it was clean, neat, and offered a good price in a nice part of the city. The only noise we noticed at night came from the bar next door, but it didn’t bother us. Our only challenge was finding a parking spot in the garage for our rented 4Runner, so we made sure to return by 6 pm to secure a perfect spot. We would definitely stay here again—next time with a smaller car! 😊

I wanted to give a good rating since there aren’t many accommodations with kitchens available, but I can’t give a high score for cleanliness because I spotted cockroaches twice, which I haven’t seen in a hotel in a long time. The building is overall quite old, and while parking is free, it is very limited with small parking spots. After 8 p.m., it’s hard to find a spot, so you may have to find a paid parking lot nearby. This wasn't a big issue for me, but I thought it might be helpful to mention for others considering this accommodation.

Good value, nicely decorated room with kichenette
We enjoyed our 8th floor room facing the Ala Wai canal with mountain views. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated and it was very convenient to have the kichenette for making breakfast. Parking is on availability only, so one night we got back late and I had to pay to park at another nearby parking garage.
