I am a Platinum member for Hotels.com and had booked this hotel a bit last minute because of the "VIP Access" perks that were offered at the time of booking. We checked in and were given a room "on the first level" which apparently is actually two levels above the lobby and entrance. We were met with a very dimly lit floor. There were no lights on within 20 feet of the elevators. The room itself was a few steps from the elevator, next to an office/janitor's room and the service elevator (we found that out when we heard the whirring of the elevator throughout our stay). The room itself was very basically appointed. It actually seemed like one of those rooms they don't use often. The towels were tired (there were no wash cloths); the mini fridge was not cleaned and barely cool; there was half a roll of toilet paper with no 'extra' in the bathroom. There was also no tissue box. Trying to take a hot shower in the morning, we realized there was no hot water to the room. I called it down but decided to forego the shower altogether when they told me they would send someone up in "maybe 10 minutes". We were then convinced they had probably turned the hot water off to the room since it was rarely (if ever) used - my husband tried the hot water again for kicks about 30 minutes after I called for kicks, only to find that they had turned the hot water on. Only lucky husband was able to squeeze in a hot shower since the hotel wouldn't accommodate a late checkout.
