Disappointing experience
Balcony was absolutely filthy when we checked in, it was clearly not cleaned for days or weeks. Disgusting to see rubbish and poop when looking out at the harbour. Bathroom had stains around the bath faucet.
Breakfast buffet had very few dairy free options and the food signs were inconsistent with the allergy info, which could be dangerous if you had severe allergies. My husband ordered the pancakes and said they were good, fried eggs and bacon were fine. Soy milk was freely available.
Service was fine. Condition of room was a bit old and tattered. Bed was comfy and big.
Be aware that you will be able to hear quite loud ferry horns at all hours, rooms are not soundproofed. They woke me up early in the morning.
I was not informed about works at the hotel until I checked in. Hilton blamed hotels.com who I booked through, however the responsibility sits with Hilton to ensure it is clear to guests at the time of booking, and it was not despite them being planned works. Works were noisy both in the room and more so on the balcony. I would not have booked the room if I knew.
Assistant manager Catherine tried really hard to make up for the issues but a free drink at the bar or a complimentary brownie - which was apparently sent to our room but we didn't receive it - doesn't make up for the poor experience.
