After our previous trip where the elevator was not working, the manager remembered us and gave us a ground floor room. This was typical service from a well run and friendly establishment. We have stayed there 3 times and will again on our next trip to UK.

2/10 Poor

Not at 8.4!
Well unfortunately it was not great! First night the windo started leaking and drip, drip drip on the carpet it kept me up! Rain should stay outside. It was also fairly smelling of a damp moldy old room. It looked like a lot of water damage has been going on. This is not just a one time thing! The ladies at breakfast serving were delightful, and it was truly a fun unique experience. The desk lady during day was so kind and apologetic. Also bed was clean and comfy, but dont turn on lights, walls are filthy, cobwebs galore in seating room. Outside was so noisy. Sounded like you were in the traffic. Lift was broke, bathroom in lobby was out of order.... honesty i dont understand who rated this one in the 8's? Except for location, and kind people, and breakfast, this is a flop.

The room itself wwas very small but since I was only staying for one night I didn't care. The room was neat and tody, and the bed/pillows was very comfortable. However, the room could really do wth some new paint, skirting boards and windowsills. The paint was scuffed and marked and looked dirty honestly. The bathroom was surprisingly nice however there was a ump of hair in the drain.

Amazing stay
Very nice experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. In the first day remembered exactly what we had for breakfast, seems like no big deal. But it’s attention to detail, and the fact they took the time to remember the things we liked means something they do care about their guests. Making us comfortable and feel welcomed.

Avoid
Unpleasant place to stay- next to the one of the busiest roads in London and no air conditioning so when it’s warm and you open the window, the noise is really bad. At the time of my stay loft was broken, staircase is narrow and stairs steep- not great if you need to carry heavy luggage to the top floor. Very poor water pressure in the bathroom, so low that when anyone on the lower floors open the tap there is no water coming out from the tap. Complementary breakfast was a joke- piece of something pink ( probably some sort of ham) egg and toast. Rude staff- when asked about the lift, I was told “ broken but you look sporty, you will make it”.

Reception lady was very helpful and friendly. Facilities is quite old from rusty shower head, crumbling door paints, dirty looking carpets, and to make mattwra worse, a non-functioning lift! So you had to carry your heavy luggage up and down the stairs. Was told it only happened day before (i asked why we were not informed during booking) but i kinda doubted it as I was there for 4 days and sign of anyone coming to check/service it. Terrible breakfast serving instant coffee alongside toast, butter and ham. I'd rather pay a decent breakfast outside.
