As the hotel is undergoing renovations, we got a discounted rate. The work on the balconies was fine and did not take away from our stay.
The room was a nice size, clean and well stocked with dishes. There is no housekeeping which is fine but also no indication that we could get an exchange on towels or anything.
The real issue we had was with the pool and the "concierge".
At check in, you are directed to the concierge who is just a timeshare sales person. She seemed nice at first but refused to provide the coupon booklet unless we agreed to go to a timeshare presentation. We declined that but it left a bad taste.
Then there was the pool issue. There are 4 resident ducks who appear to be living in the pools. The pool is cleaned every morning but as the ducks are not house-broken, they defecate in the pool all day, every day. I am sorry, but I don't think that paying for the privilege of swimming in duck feces is acceptable despite the staff saying that the chlorine makes up for it. As I pointed out to them, if I was pooping in your pool every day, you would certainly do something about it. Seeing as the pool was one of the main reasons for selecting this hotel, I was upset and disappointed. In the end, we ended up cancelling the additional 3 days we had booked there.
