Maintenance staff in my room without me knowing
They let me check in early in the morning which I really appreciated. Very good service of the young lady at the reception.
The next day I had a really bad experience when entering my room literally 2 minutes after having left it and found a male staff in there, apparently to fix some problem. I had all of my stuff laying around including valuables as I took for granted only I would enter that room. I tried to explain that I found it really inappropriate that they entered without my permission. I had been in the room all morning and left 10.15 so they could have easily knocked on the door while I was there. He explained that he was just following orders. The hotel manager came up a while later but no apology or explanation (as the first guy did all the talking), not even a free dinner for the discomfort and mistrust I was left with. I was later told that their policy says that they can’t enter unless they’ve knocked on the door several times without anyone opening. I was surprised that their policy doesn’t say “we don’t enter without client’s permission or at least without letting them know, unless it’s an emergency”. I just went down the lobby but found that breakfast was taken away so went straight up again; they could so easily have found me if they wanted to. And they had my phone number so could easily have called me too.
