I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn City
Hotel in Auckland, and while there were some positive aspects, there were also several disappointments that affected my overall experience.
First, the room was clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the shower that detracted from the comfort of the stay. It would be great if the hotel could address this issue to enhance the experience for future guests.
The food at the hotel was tasty, but I was surprised to find that there were no options available on the kid’s menu. When we ordered food for our children, we were charged the standard adult portion. If I hadn’t noticed this on the bill, it would have gone unaddressed, which is not ideal for families traveling with kids.
Additionally, several drinks from the menu were unavailable. This led to the inconvenience of having to upgrade to a bottle and mix it ourselves, which was not the experience we anticipated.
Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was limited, and the quality did not meet expectations. It felt quite poor and lacking in flavor, which was disappointing given the importance of a good start to the day.
In summary, while the cleanliness of the room was commendable, the issues with the shower smell, lack of a kid’s menu, unavailable drinks, and unsatisfactory breakfast left much to be desired. I hope the hotel can improve on these areas for a more enjoyable stay.
