Our experience at this hotel was unfortunately tainted by an unprofessional and rude interaction with one of the reception staff. Although the hotel policy clearly states that check-in is at 3 PM, we arrived at 2 PM after being informed earlier that early check-in was possible for an additional 20 euros. However, when we asked the receptionist about it, he was busy on his phone and dismissively told us we could not check in early—even with payment—and to come back at 3 PM.
There was no designated waiting area, and with many guests waiting around for rooms, we were left standing. When we returned to the counter at 3 PM, the same receptionist told us to come back after another 30 minutes. When I asked why, his response was extremely rude: "No why. Because I said come back after 30 minutes, so come later." There was no explanation or courtesy.
Thankfully, another receptionist, who was much more polite and professional, allowed us to check in at 3:10 PM.
This kind of attitude from the first staff member is unacceptable in hospitality. While the rest of our stay may have been fine, first impressions matter, and this was a poor one.
