Not Planning a Return
Bought tickets to Jason Bonham concert for a gift and booked the Meritage to make it a full experience.
Arrived at 2 (check-in is 4) & totally understood our room wasn’t ready. Staff said they’d text me soon when we could move our bags in. We ate lunch at the bar adjacent to the lobby but didn’t receive a text. Stood in line again for 15+ min and heard our room was almost ready. Staff talked quickly about reimbursing $100 fee (??) and that they’d send a text soon. Meanwhile, the lobby was filled with guests and their luggage waiting for rooms, including kids blatantly throwing paper airplanes at people.
Never received a text. Concert area opened soon (5), so we approached the desk a third time. Employee was extremely rude & dismissive. He said he wasn’t in charge of texting me. We said we’d been waiting for our room for 2.5 hours and he said, ‘Again…I just work at this desk and I don’t let you know when your room is ready. Sorry.’ His tone was mocking, not apologetic. We hurried to our room without time to relax or appreciate it.
Concert was outstanding, venue felt intimate, sound was great! We enjoyed the show and the short walk back to our comfortable, clean room was convenient. However, in all of our many travels we’ve never received our room past check-in time or waited in a lobby for hours. We didn’t receive an apology, weren’t given any explanation and missed out on relaxing poolside. We’re local, but don’t plan to return.
