Disparity between Melia resort concierge services
Friendly staff but the concierge experience is laughable in contrast to other Melia resorts and/or other resort experiences.
The concierge essentially only is books dining reservations and the property makes this a requirement, so if you want a reservation during your stay you need this option. Our concierge was physically not even on site one day because she had classes! The extra cost of a cabana would have totally been worth it if the person assigned would have shown up more than once every 1 1/2 hours. Other than making the beds, housekeeping was horrible and didn’t replace towels, toiletries, clean floors, restock nespresso or clean bathrooms. At one point we found our balcony door was left ajar and I was eaten up by mosquitos that night. What was more absurd was that several separate people came to restock and lingered with an expectation to be tipped for replenishing what the housekeeping (who was tipped each day)should have standard replenished. The amount of times the pool was closed due to people’s little ones having accidents was ridiculous but not the properties fault, although after the second time being the same kid you’d think the staff would have said something! Surprisingly the beach vendors were no where as near as aggressive as expected in contrast to reviews and have travelled to Jamaica and Bahamas in the past, they were friendly and humble.
