Walkable and convenient to town, but unfortunately, that’s where it started and ended. The use of ‘upscale hotel’ in the description is used here very loosely. Here’s why:
I booked a King Room with Sea View, but was given twin double. The staff claimed that the information sent to them by the agency, not Expedia, did not say King but Twin or Double only. I wouldn’t mind this had I (1) not booked through Expedia and (2) not paid for King room w/ sea view.
Then we entered the room: small! Bathroom shower sprayed water all over because the glass partition didn't go far enough. No washcloths available in the room, even at front desk. Beds (since we had two twin beds instead of king) squeaked and very uncomfortable. No blackout drapes so if you plan to sleep in, forget it. Walls and floors are very thin - lots of doors shutting and furniture shuffling heard early in the morning.
Breakfast area reminded me of school cafeteria.
The rooftop pool picture they have here did not even come close to how it actually looked. There were only 5 lounge chairs available, very limited tables to put your stuff on, and no bar at the rooftop.
The silver lining: the wait staff is friendly and accommodating even when we asked for ice bucket to take in our room or rooftop. Security was also good because they have the main door locked after midnight, and you will need to show your key for entry.
Unfortunately, this hotel didn't live up to even the most basic ‘upscale’ expectations.
