It really is 45 secs to the beach, and the beach is lovely. The Bali beds are really comfortable. It’s great having a guaranteed bed & beach chairs that are yours and will be there for you all day no matter what you decide to do. The beach would be what brings us back. The pool is cute if small. The restaurants are pretty, and we appreciated that the specials gave the opportunity to taste local food - from teas, juices, bread, pastries, breakfast through to dinner. There was variety each day. We appreciated the 4 poster bed & the mosquito nets in the room. The front desk & wait staff were fabulous and very responsive to requests.
The negatives are the service on the beach was very erratic. We got asked for drinks at 10am and often no-one reappeared to ask again later. Or we ordered & it never came (this happened three times).
The room is dark & needs some renovation… The sink plugs didn’t work, the toilet seat was broken. I don’t know why there is an outdoor shower. The bathroom is enormous so there would be room for one inside. The outside shower was dimly lit and with the mosquitoes and the wind it was often a cold and quick experience.
The palm trees hit the roof & every time the wind blew it sounded like creatures crawling or tumbling over the roof. It made it challenging to sleep.
It isn’t luxury. It’s rustic. Luxury gave us the wrong expectations - it’s quirky. Now we know what it is we would come again. It is a beautiful spot & that’s what makes it special.
