The Hotel.com website is misleading
This hotel is in a very poor state of disrepair, no bar, no beer garden, no kettle in the room, no breakfast available, no food available whatsoever. None of these crucial items were stated as such and all were implied either by photographs or description to be available on the Hotels.com website booking page.
The en-suite was in a poor state of disrepair, electrical connections exposed on the wall heater, the hot/cold shower controls faulty, smells from the drain pipe, grime on the extractor fan, the ensuite was simply very very tired and in a terrible state of disrepair.
Air-condition unit did not work the first night, although credit where credit is due it was repaired for our second nights stay, likely because I had complained.
All in all simply very disappointed, the photographs certainly do not provide a fair representation of the hotel's current run down condition.
I must say though that the bed was clean and comfortable, efforts are clearly being made.. but they have a long road ahead of them which is such a shame for an iconic building in the heart of Datchet.
I have since learnt that the hotel has been getting used to house migrants and only recently returns to a hotel.
IT SHOWS...!
I will also say that the two members of staff we interacted with on the phone and at the reception desk were extremely nice and sympathetic, but could not do anything about our complaints.
