I booked a superior room but was given a triple room. I questioned it and was told it was a superior room. I checked the website and there was a clear delineation between a superior room with a double bed and a sofa, and a triple room with a double bed plus single bed. I returned to reception and asked to be moved to the room I booked. Initially he said the two were interchangeable but I challenged this because would three guests booking a triple be given a superior? I didn’t understand how it was different because a sofa was useful for my stay and an additional bed superfluous. He said it was impossible to change because it was fully booked which I accepted, but said he would enquire and get back to us about the other nights as we were there for three. This never happened, it’s like they just wanted to brush it under the carpet. Suggestion in future - acknowledge a mistake made and offer some form of compensation however small instead of trying to gaslight guests. It spoiled the stay, which is a shame because the hotel is nice and the private spa was lovely. However the room was small I think if there were three guests using it they would struggle in the space especially with luggage too. The room would benefit from a little fridge to keep drinks cold.
