Almost Perfect
Everything about the room was pretty much great. I could tell it was newly refurbed (still had a 'new' smell to possibly the flooring). Everything was clean and in great condition, with THE VERY NOTABLE EXCEPTION that the shower did not work. I regard this as a major drawback. However, we did not notice it until it was late in the evening, at which time there would have been no one at the front desk any longer (it is not staffed after 6 pm), and it seemed too late in the evening to call the proprietor at the sister property down the street. Since we were only staying for one day, we just went without. I did tell the person at the front desk about it the next day. I'm guessing that when the room was redone, the contractor forgot to reopen the water line to the shower? Everything else had access to water (sink, toilet).
Other than the shower issue, everything was wonderful: clean, quiet room with possibly new paint and laminate flooring, perfect bed and pillows, great location right next to a lovely eatery, a beautiful ocean view with two comfy chairs in our patio and the TV and wifi worked perfectly.
Shower issue aside, I would be fine with staying there again, but I would definitely check to make sure everything worked as soon as soon as I get my key (and before the front desk is closed).
