Honest Lawyer, we won’t be returning.
Check in was ok. (Already paid) I told reception that my son’s family(2+child) were coming for Sunday breakfast. He asked me to pay for it so I did.
The room allocated was clean and tidy. There was an odd smell, like drains, but we thought it would be gone soon.
Our main issues were with one particular member of the staff in the bar/restaura
Dinner: We waited for our family in the bar/restaurant and ordered a bottle of wine. I asked the lady behind the bar if I could set up an account for the meal + drinks. A curt response: “No. We don’t do that.” So I paid for the wine.
The family arrived, we all wanted main courses, +a child’s meal.
There was a good selection of dishes, but rather than hand cooked chips, 3 of us wanted fries. So I went to the bar to order.
The response, rolling of eyes and huffing, when I asked for fries instead of chips.
I paid for the food and sat dow
When the food arrived, only 1 of the 3 requested servings of fries materialised. The others came with thick chips. No explanation. I was unhappy but let it pass to keep the peace.
The steak was nicely cooked.
Breakfast on Sunday, with the same family members. Woman serving said loudly there was no record of me booking or paying, then went to reception and shouted ”SHE SAYS she has paid at reception” -was very embarrassing.
Nobody explained options for cold/cooked breakfast. But when breakfast arrived, it was good.
The smell in our bathroom got worse and I reported it to a pleasant man at checkout.
