I recently stayed at the Breathless Riviera Resort, and I have to say, the property itself is absolutely stunning. The rooms were perfect, spacious, and well-appointed—truly top-notch in terms of comfort and style. However, my experience was marred by how guests are treated during their stay.
While the resort has a beautiful atmosphere, the level of rules and regulations felt excessive. There seemed to be restrictions on nearly everything, from when and where you could get towels to the limited hours for pool bars, which don’t open until 10 AM. After 8 PM, the only thing available was the nightclub—meaning if you’re looking for something more relaxed, you’re out of luck.
One of the most frustrating aspects was the lack of flexibility at dinner. We had a party of 12, and when a few people were just 15 minutes late for our reservation at the French restaurant, we were “punished” by having to be split up. Despite the fact that the restaurant was empty, they chose not to seat us together, even though it would have been an easy fix. It was a disappointing way to treat guests who were simply enjoying their vacation.
Overall, while the resort itself is beautiful and has great potential, the overly strict rules and lack of guest flexibility left me feeling more like a child being punished than an adult on vacation.
