I am compelled to express my deep dissatisfaction with my stay at Svalinn Hotel. A brand-new pair of pants worth €200 was stolen from our suitcase, likely by hotel staff, during our absence. We specifically chose this hotel for its perceived safety after leaving another establishment due to serious security and hygiene issues, but we were met with indifference.
The security personnel dismissed our claims, insisting their staff was blameless. Despite promises to review CCTV footage, we never received any follow-up communication. When we sought updates, we learned the staff member handling our case was no longer available, leaving us without resolution. Rather than an apology, we felt as though we were being accused of lying.
Moreover, the safe in our room suddenly malfunctioned, intensifying our concerns about safety. To make matters worse, we encountered escort services in the stairwell at night, which further compromised our sense of security. The lack of professionalism and attention to guest safety at this hotel is not only disappointing but unacceptable. It is a shame, given the hotel’s potential.
