Firstly, the location is excellent, close to the shops and bars, NCP parking a few minutes walk away, and the castle is just down the road if that's your thing.
Our room was quite large and nicely decorated, clean and quiet. We were given a disability room, so I'm not sure that reflects the rest of the rooms, but it was fine for us.
The bed wasn't great as the mattress seemed a poor quality sprung mattress - there was an annoying squeak even from breathing, so that should be improved, especially for the nightly price bracket being charged.
My biggest gripe was the hotel bar. Although it was a nice place, the prices were a rip off, even for a city centre. Not sure £20 is right for a mediocre cocktail and a lager.
On a positive note to finish, the reception staff were lovely and we were able to check in early which is a bonus. I would stay again, I wouldn't visit the bar and would hope for a more comfortable mattress!
