POSITIVE: rooms (as pictures: spacious, bright, beds ok) central location (3 min to market, jetty, 1 min main road), nice breakfast terrace (either eggs, rubber pancakes, soup- very limited and some fruits).NEGATIVE: noise (you hear everything from the neighbours: their talking very word, their breathing really. Street is busy and loud.), cleanliness (I had to get them 2x to clean the bath so there were no remains from previous guests), only plastic bottled payable drinking water. All this would be ok for the price. But there's the owner family: ALWAYS sitting at reception, watching your every move, constantly trying to sell something (30,000 for the boat trip when at the jetty I paid 15,000. They stopped an employee from refilling my water bottle "because that way we can't sell the water"). Grandpa is sitting in a chair all day making comments, scolding me for booking online versus with them directly), grandpa moves around making those disgusting throat clearing noises, spitting everywhere. If it had not been for Bee, a young woman running the place for a brief period, I would have left. She was the only one visibly working there, single handedly did breakfast, reception. Very efficient, super friendly and accommodated even guests who showed up for breakfast 50 min late. Her skills and personality were very impressive. Bright, capable, ambitious young women like her will make a difference. Once she is gone, I would not stay at Teakwood.
